about

I heard the beat when i was in germany and dj bulet was playing it (off his phone) in his car. but even through the shitty lil phone speaker i could tell this was a beast. it was the golden hour soundtrack from a producer called 14kt from detroit and bulet had a link to him, so couple emails later, 14kt said i was cool to use the beat and here it is. Its a retrospective look back at life, autobiographical typa ish and also what happens when i zone, just spewing lyric after lyric out. A lot of people's favourite already.

lyrics

Chorus
If everything I did so far was in vain
and it meant going right back and starting again
then i would, for the love, im not scared of square one
burst out the staring blocks, blast the airgun
If everything I did so far was in vain
and it meant going right back and starting again
then i would, for the love, im not scared of square one
burst out the staring blocks, blast the airgun

Verse
Not your ordinary narrative, my story varies
all the characters performing are my commissaries
and the only cameras are closed circuit
and though audiences gather round its no circus
its life, times change, day merges into night
people come, people go, dark turns back into light
whats my life like? i dont have an answer to share with you
life is life, what the fuck can i compare it to?
im going through it like i know it all
im a house made of straw and as soon as the wolf blows it falls
so i redraft plans and pave over flaws
built a house made of brick, with an open door
see i just cant seem to win for loosing
looking for truth like, WAIT, maybe its illusion
and they got us all on a wild goose chase
must have broke my mums heart to see her child loose faith
in my teens all id think about is lyrics and beaver
my pants sagged my breath stank of wrigleys and reefer
my headphones were round my ears
antisocial round my peers
and i smoked, only spoke to order us a round of beers
drowning fears of an angry adoloescent's thoughts
maybe that would have been time better spent indoors
nights thrown away, fights, 5-0 and blades,
overstayed my welcome and i had my lesson taught
forced myself to stay in a dedicate to rap
procrastinatin wont make me i gotta face the facts
sober up a little, fuck a tipple if it hurts
keep my upper lip as stiff as my dick when im hittin birds
i figured in these words, i could reach the planet wide
so i graduated and grabbed the mic
something id never done and was out of character but i had to try it
round the time started cyphering with this cat named Wize
(rest in peace)
we kicked it in college and borrowed the studio keys
every wednesday people came to watch us both MC
these are the time i remember with a fondness
nonchalauntly i moved away from the nonesense
made a seemless transition, and spent more time with mans willing to support my ambition
i know so many in a rut, in a place where theyre stuck
where the drugs have replaced what they love its a shame
but everybody's got their vices
a lot of nights i got an alcoholic likeness
but im gettin by, head is high and im chillin
making considerable progress with this enterprise im buildin
i met so many influential people along the way
who helped me improve myself and every song i make
so this homage i pay, is to my family and friends
that might mean nothing to ya, but id be nothing without them
so in turn my people help me more than they know
this is a dose of modern day soul
this is just dope, and organic flow
and the roots get even deeper the more that it grows
caught in a moment, open when i reminisce
feeling like everyday is my genesis
and im just starting out, brand new hunger surge
another day another dollar and another verse
another song another album, im nothing but humbled
even if we only sell like a couple of hundred
and we turn up to our shows like some massive star
but park far away from our fans so they dont see our crappy cars
we're so hiphop tryna walk before we crawl
but thats the reason so many rappers are born to fall
but all in all if they said this was the end
i wouldnt hesitate to go through it all again
because
If everything I did so far was in vain
and it meant going right back and starting again
bro i would, for the love, im not scared of square one
burst out the staring blocks, blast the airgun
If everything I did so far was in vain
and it meant going right back and starting again
bro i would, for the love, im not scared of square one
burst out the staring blocks, blast the airgun
gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun gun
